Thursday Fiction 423: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“I don't know. I'm not sure how magic really works yet,” Romulus said.

“Yeah,” Isabelle said a bit bitterly.

Romulus acted like he had all the answers but he didn't and that was rather annoying. She followed him to the bathroom on the second floor. The stairs were made of wood too but not the creaking kind and not the kind with the gap on the vertical side either, it was strong and sturdy and somehow reassuring. There were windows everywhere in the second floor's corridor, not a single shadow. Isabelle wondered if Eric's grand-father had been a really good architect or maybe a little bit scared of the dark. There was no place to hide either. The bathroom was the last room at the end of the corridor. It was completely white which really changed compared to the wood color of the rest of the house but everything was made of wood too. Romulus made her sat on the side of the bathtub and took a stool to sit in front of her. Isabelle tried to remember Romulus's real self with the orange hair and all when he took her hand to take away the gauze.
