Thursday Fiction 417: Parallel Slip 2: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction, it's been a while. We continue with Parallel Slip 2: Rebel where we left of last time, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

“That makes no sense, the entire wealth of the alliance repose on the fact that everyone is unique in their universe, that's why it's kept small, so that everyone got a part of the cake in every world but the leading traveling family get the most power,” Isabelle said.

“But what if you had an army of traveler working just for you, they wouldn't need to be rich, all they would need would be to obey you.”

“Then they could do everything they wanted. In every universe. Take the technology that was refused to them before, and with Malik in only two universes.”

“The benefit would go to Hamelin and Hadesa.” Romulus finished. “It would be the end of the alliance, the end of prosperity for the rest of us and...”

“But wait, why would anyone want to help create that army?” Isabelle asked.

It made very little sense. And even if she had thought that Mike was Malik's father, it was more of a joke, just imagining her mother with him, or more exactly his old other self on Hamelin made her want to vomit. Even her mother wouldn't go to that length but hadn't she said just yesterday that Mike was a good man? It was so gross but it didn't mean that wasn't possible.
