Welcome to Tuesday Travel. This week we are following Brownie on her journey as she is going toward the second element: Earth.
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt, we start right where we left off last time.
Brownie had hoped that after what happened in Fireden, she was going to get some rest, at least in the train, but apparently, the universe had decided otherwise.
Daphy was staring at her now, as if she was trying to put her energy on her. Gideon didn't really do stuff like that, his magic looked instantaneous. Brownie had trouble deciding what Daphy was. Maybe an hybrid of some sort, maybe she could do both the crazy stuff that would allow her to take the train without paying for a ticket, convenient but not really ethical, and the other stuff: the magic Brownie had had to work so much for.
Brownie went back down on her pillow. There was something strange about this girl, it was as if she already knew Brownie while Brownie had no idea who she was.
This trip was starting to get on her nerve, at least the people in it. Was it too much to ask to be left on her own for a while? It wasn't that she didn't like people, sort of the opposite, she loved to have people around, she loved the noise and the craze and observing people doing their things, she could have done that all day long. It was a bit related to fashion, there was a way to make sure that people's personality shone through with clothes and Brownie used to be good at that. Maybe when she stopped using that, her tolerance for people stopped to.
