Thursday Fiction 338: Parallel Slip: Rebel

Welcome back to a new Thursday Fiction. We continue where we left of last week, following Isabelle as she figure out who she really is.

Malik stood up and walked to the door, shaking his head as he walked out. Isabelle didn't wait for him and her mother to walk away. She closed her door, put her back on it and slide to the floor. Why did it always have to be like this? Why did her mother always have to take her brother side? At least her father would take hers from time to time when he was still living with them. Maybe if she could just go to him. But last time she tried her mother had caught up with her.

“Don't think I'm going to give you money to go to live with your dad, when he is done emptying your bank account to get drinks and you are left with nothing just like him, don't come crying. Is that what you really want? You want to spend your time with an alcoholic and be a waitress in a dirty pub to see more of them and their moving hands on your ass whenever they please.”

That had the gift to cool her down and her mother had taken her home. Legally she was supposed to let her and her brother to see her father every two weekends but the first time they went, her brother had called her mother when her father was out for grocery shopping and she had come pick them up. They had left a letter saying that they didn't feel good at his place so that they didn't want to stay here. Her mother had forced her to sign it too, making her sick in her stomach. She had never seen her father again and that had been another blow.
