Welcome to Mystery Monday. This week, we continue with Murder at the Conference.
Let's get back where we left off with chapter 1 last time.
The changes this time around weren't really big, it just looked really red because of all the sentence changes, which also meant next time there would be some more typos. I did the changes once again, box by box and then adjusted the boxes' sizes to make sure they were aligned. That was the worse part in the poster but with each poster, it got easier every time I made changes. Too bad it didn't stick long enough from one poster to the next.
I probably took too long to make the changes because my supervisor came to get me, not waiting for me to print the poster again. Or maybe he just wanted to go home and was bored with it. He took the chair next to me at my desk and sat down. He barely looked at the computer.
“This looks fine,” he said.
I held my breath, hoping he really meant it. He read the poster over but didn't catch on anything.
“You can print it first thing in the morning, just make sure that you cut this word here properly because the hyphen seems to get out of your box but otherwise, that's fine.”
That was a hard one, I would have to experiment with adding some random space to make sure the word wasn't cut or was cut a bit later or earlier or something.
“So are you excited to go to China,” he said putting his hands at the back of his head and relaxing in the chair.
Sometimes, he could be quite the chatty type.
“Yes, I've never been there before,” I said.
“I thought you have, don't you speak Chinese?”
“Just a little bit and that's because I used to live with a lot of Chinese friends.”
