Tuesday Travel 108: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

"Of course," he wrote it on his note pad, "anything else."

"Not for the moment," Samantha said.

"I'll be right back."

"Fries? You're having a large pizza coming with a side of salad and mozzarella and garlic bread, and an entry of pasta that looks like it will just be a mountain and you're asking for fries?" Josh asked.

"Yes you can have some and you're welcome," Samantha said folding the menu and placing it back in it's holder.

Brownie was drinking her lemon water slowly. There was also the possibility that Samantha wouldn't eat it all and just wanted to taste the side dishes. That sounded like a waste of food and money but she would still like that better than to see her being recovering from a spell. She suddenly realised why she never asked for help and why she never let other people fix her problem. She was afraid that they would make a mess that she would have to clean up. She looked at Samantha and decided that spell or no spell, she wouldn't get involved, if things were to turn bad, even if she liked the girl, she would let her take care of it. She had to. She had to make sure that she didn't get herself into more trouble than she was already in.

"That's not what I mean," Josh said. "You're eating like four, are you sure you are ok? You're super skinny and there is no way everything you ordered would fit in.”
