WeWriWar 340: The House at the Crossing 46

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!

How are you doing?
I entered the 6 Week challenge this month, it has been a long time since I did it last. It's a challenge to learn languages and I'm doing Irish as my main target language this time around.

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first comes into the House. It's supposed to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Let's start right at where we left off last week, Teresa is still talking.

"You see my parents never went there. Actually, I don't think they even knew the place existed but then it was filled with things... books, rugs, vinyls, old clothes from another time, from other realms... I didn't realise what the house really was then. But from that point, it started to change. If I wanted a room to put my drawings, there was one appearing just next to my bedroom. That one too, my parents didn't see. And then the house was flickering everywhere and I saw the others people living here and the flickers became real, the house took the shape the previous guardian had given it, so many rooms, so many places and creatures, even a library tower for crying out loud. I spent hours there. All my time, figuring things out."

  1. It's hard for me to imagine anyone actually figuring out this crazy place, but she must've learned some (other than Irish, of course). So will she tell us what she learned.

  2. The house gets even more intriguing. Enjoy learning Irish. That sounds intriguing too.

  3. I'd spend all my time figuring things out too because this house is a delightful mystery! Quick question just because I don't know - what are vinyls? Records was my guess...love the story, can't wait for more. Your imagination here is awe inspiring.

    1. Yes, vinyls are records. The old black type of record with all the lines on them.

  4. I don't think I'd want to live and/or visit this house... Have fun learning Irish.

  5. I want to live in that house! Well, except for the other people and other versions of myself. But all those extra rooms to put stuff in!

    1. I actually want to live there too. Imagine you need a room for whatever reason and it just appeared at the end of the corridor, all equipped for service. Dream come true!

  7. A fascinating mystery. It would be cool if a room could appear for me to put stuff whenever I needed, though!
