WeWriWar 336: The House at the Crossing 42

Hello everybody and welcome for a new Sunday of writing with Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
I hope you had a great time at the end of this crazy year despite the lockdowns and that Santa was really nice to you.

Let's continue with  "The House at the Crossing" and it's a prequel to Demon Soul and the demon series. It's a bit of a mix of Fantasy and Science-fiction.

It follows one of the books more obscure character as she first come into the House. It's suppose to explain why there are so many people is the house and sort of where they come from and at the same time be a first time adventure for the main character as she needs to adapt to her new role and the new version of who she is.

Let's start right at where we left off last week !

I want out of here, but with three kids now, I have no idea where to go and even less how to get there. In all the selves that I reabsorbed - damn if that's not weird - there is not a single one of us, a single part of me who knows about a place to stay and if I walk out with all three kids how am I suppose to get back to a universe where some of them don't even exist. At least, I need out of this kitchen away from Teresa and my other self.
But Teresa stands up.
“Right this way,” she says.
I take the cribs with Ryan and Hiroshi in my other hand while carrying Malicia in my left arm. I look for my suitcase but it's nowhere to be seen, definitely not were I left it. The others suitcases are gone too but I know better than to ask. My other self still has her bag on her shoulders though. At least she was smart about that.

  2. I wonder if any of her other selves can be useful as allies.

  3. This situation just compounds and twists and turns but you're in control of all of it. Loving this story, great snippet!

  4. I like how she's thinking about the kids before herself - says a lot about her character.

  5. I'm with Nancy on this one--it was quite enough for me to raise one child. To suddenly have three of them--yikes! Of course it is right for her to think of their well-being, though.
