About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

Brownie wasn't really sure she wanted to try a fire stew, she would do with the stew but the fire, she wasn't sure.
"Why is everything about fire in here?" She asked.
"Because the Lions are the protectors of the fire that warm the earth and keep it alive." A voice said behind her. It was the girl form Josh's dormitory room. Brownie recognized her by the blue strand of her she had notice earlier rising above her book.
"Oh, so it's some mythological story?" Brownie said.
"Yes, and no, the lions are real, some still appear around here from time to time, especially in time of trouble rising from the underworld."
"Yeah right," Josh said. "Because trouble rise from the ground here so often, it's not even a seismic area."
"I'm not talking about volcanic activity, this place is the flattest part in the country, no, I'm talking about creatures from the underworld, demons, beast," the girl with the blue strand of hair said.
"So it's a myth," Sandy answered.
"There is a cave, not so far away where the creature are rising from. And they held the festival each year for the lions to protect them against the demons with their fire," the girl said.
"So the lions breathe fire?" Brownie asked.
"No, they are fire, they can transform themselves into creature of fire as if their skin and bones and blood were made of pure burning oxygen only," the girl said.
"And they are going to appear during the festival?" Brownie ask.
"Not the real one but representation of them," the girl said.
"Because there is no real one," Josh answered. "It's a myth, nothing can change into fire and still be alive."
