About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire
Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.
The excerpt, we start where we left off last week
Dylan looked at her, “ok, maybe the last example wasn't really a good point, but damn, I'm drinking the synthetic stuff. Anyway, my point is, you can't go around telling her to stop being who she is while at the same time making ten time worse choices and expect her to blindly agree.”
“But you are a vampire, you need the blood, when you get out, that's not a choice, you need it,” Sahel said.
“I could stay here for month and drink this stuff, I do it because I like it, just the same way you go to the demon world because you get a kick out of it, but you could stay here, damn, you spend half of your existence in this house already before you even knew the Demon World existed. It's a freaking choice.”
“So even if it is, what's you point. I'm a demon doing demon things in the demon world. She is a human using magic too big for her, magic she doesn't control, magic even strong demons are afraid of,” Sahel said.
“No, she is a witch doing magic and mostly for your and your friends benefits because you bring danger in this house, she protected all and every single on of us at some point, don't you forget that and it's time you have a bit of respect for what she is about,” Dylan said.
“She is a human, it's a choice, she doesn't have to be a witch, she doesn't have to do magic, it's not in her like it's in Gideon, it's not a power that's in her like fire is in me or fangs are in you. It's sometimes she created and...”
“And so it's there, she created it and it's a part of her and she can't just walk away from it, it's there,” Dylan said.
“Then it's an addiction,” Sahel said a pushing his wings to the back of his chair as if everything Dylan had said has proven his point. “She can't stop whether she wants to or not because it's like a drug to her, she needs a detox.”
Dylan shook his head and turn to Brownie.
