Tuesday Travel 20: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

“We are going to organize you a detox, at the sanctuary, in the Demon World,” Sahel said.
“The sanctuary has been compromised, there is no sanctuary, I'm not going to the Demon World,” Brownie said.
“That's your only option,” Sahel answered.
“I'm warning you Sahel, get the hell away from me and leave me alone,” Brownie said.
“Or what?”
“Or I'll make you,” Dylan said opening the kitchen's door but staying at the entrance.
“Seriously,” Sahel answered. He wasn't afraid of the vampire.
“If that's the only way to have her stop yelling, yes, I'll freaking bite you and drain you of your blood, I can hear you from my den. Now someone get the damn curtains before I roast in here.”
“Sorry about that,” Brownie said. She pulled on the curtains and the light in the room diminished only slightly but it was enough for Dylan to enter without being exposed to direct sunlight.
“You know, I could just open the curtains and you would have to leave us continue our conversation,” Sahel said.
“You are not having a conversation and what you thought was a conversation was already finished before it even begun. Just leave the girl alone,” Dylan said crossing the room to get to the fridge.
“We aren't finished yet,” Sahel started.
“Yes we are,” Brownie answer walking back to her cup of tea. Now that Dylan was here, she could breath a bit easier, not that the situation was any better but Sahel wouldn't get to her if she didn't want to, not in front of the vampire.
“Not in a million years,” Sahel said.
Dylan picked up a bag of blood and placed it in the microwave, he wasn't a big fan of the synthetic stuff but since they woke him up in the middle of the day, he might as well have a drink while he was at it.
