Tuesday Travel 14: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to the first Tuesday Travel post. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week

“You put Seti and Kallisto's life in danger when you decided to go “boys only” to the fairy world and separated them,” Brownie said. “I saved my sister's and your friend's life. Thank you sound a lot more appropriate that “What have you done” right now.”
“No, you decided that they couldn't deal on their own, that we weren't doing anything in the Fairy World to help them and as a result you put yourself and Seti's sister in danger, recklessly with magic you don't understand, as usual.” Sahel answered.
“Magic, YOU don't understand,” Brownie said, “What scares you is that you have no idea how I do it so it has to be bad because I'm not a demon using a demon skill.”
“I'm scared of losing you, you use dangerous magic demons wouldn't even dare to use, nobody dives into other people's body like that, there are consequences that you don't understand.”
“That's not what you said when I dived into your consciousness to bring you back,” Brownie said.
“She has a point,” Sahel's dark shadow emerged from under the door.
“We are not counting points and we don't need you here, this is a private conversation,” Sahel said.
Brownie turned around to take care of her other waffle. So much stress was coursing her veins, she wanted to yell at the top of her voice but she had to stay calm. Every single bit of rising her voice seemed to always make Sahel right in his mind, it was crazy, it was driving her insane.
“Diving into me was much different, there was no other choice,” Sahel said.
“When I use magic for you, to do what you need me to do, you are happy about it. But as soon as I do it for myself or for someone else it's a big no no,” Brownie said.
