“I was going to ask you if you were
alone”, Sahel said.
“Seti and Azazel came earlier, I was
at the sanctuary, we had been attacked.”
“Oh!” Sahel answered.
He didn’t want to think about the
sanctuary being in danger just yet, it was too bad but he had to take
care of Brownie first, she was the only one that really mattered to
him.
“They killed a lot and took other
people away”, she said, “it’s a real mess over there and I
should probably go back, if you could get those to Az…”
“No”, Sahel said interrupting her.
“That’s too bad but I can’t be looking for Brownie and Az, if
you want to find him you’ll have to do it yourself.”
“We are all in this mess because of
your girlfriend so you better beat it and help us instead of…”
Sahel stopped holding himself to the
wall to vomit again. It seemed that it was coming out from the bottom
of his body. Evalynn suddenly stopped complaining. She had felt so
mad at him few seconds ago that she really wondered how her feeling
could have changed so quickly.
“Are you ok?” she asked putting a
hand on Sahel shoulder but she took it away faster than she had
touched him.
He was hot, at this point she wouldn’t
have even called it a fever, Sahel’s body seemed to be holding the
phoenix without being able to change shape. He vomited again, it was
a dark color remembering Evalynn of the vortex. She felt disgusted
noting that she was going to need the best shower of her life to
clean her body inside and out. She looked away.
Sahel finally started to walk back, he
was grateful not to pass out and not to visit his previous life
anymore, it had been so disturbing. He wondered why Brownie
absolutely needed to find out about this stuff. He had enough mess to
deal with in his present life. There was something about her, that he
didn’t get, she didn’t want to do magick anymore and she was
still at it every day, more and more addicted to it. He wondered if
there was a cure for it, if he could help her.
