WeWriWar 131: Rainbow Catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday
I won NaNoWriMo last night! And wrote the nuts version of my tips blog post. (Include detailed stats)

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital.

We start just where we left off last week.

He was not in a mood to play anymore.

Clarissa turned her back at him and looked through the window. She hadn’t been out in such a long time now. The doctor was worried that pollen would block her lungs.

It was raining, the sky of the first sun was still orange waiting for the second sun to rise and change the color. She tried to remember the sensation of the orange rain on her skin but couldn’t. It was still nice weather for rainbow catchers. The time just before the rise of the second sun was the more suitable to catch rare rainbows, especially under the rain.

Answer to last week's comments:

Ed) It's an heart disease with tuberculosis symptoms. I'm glad I got that through
Veronica) Yes, she really needs it.
Elaine) She is actually dying.
Amalie) I don't think that's proud. I think it's trying not to put the burden of their disease on others. Everyone take as much as they can carry.
Karen) Thanks, I'm know at that brother-sister relationship.
Dianne) That's the all point of the story ;)
Iris) I think it's going to take a little longer than soon.

  1. As soon as mentioned rain, I figured rainbows might pop up, as well. And I was right.

  10. I like how you use the color orange to paint a vivid picture of the scene. It reminds us that all of the colors of the rainbow are soon to be revealed to us.
