Thursday Taster 36: Parralel Slip

Hello everybody and welcome to a new Thursday Taster!
Please don't forget to check on the other tasters, you can find the list here.
We've got a rather colorful picture today, don't we? It's time to go back to our trip. Last week we left Frederique in the middle of something. I really wonder what the girls were really talking about. I mean it's a little bit difficult to have a detailed view a world you only gets glimpses at. Let's see if we can have a better understanding of the situation this time or if Frederique will slip back to her body confused.

"We don't think it's a good idea," the other ventured.
She looked like she was expecting me to bite her or something. I straightened myself and stood up and walked in the middle of their bikes. Just in front of the glass showing the stars. I sat there, on the floor with a sigh without knowing where it was coming from. Sometimes, I had reactions which belong to my other self without knowing exactly why.
"Could you explain me why?" I asked.
"Because, we believe that the captain is not dead, that if you abdicate or let someone else in charge, the conceal might take it as an advantage and gave this ship to another administrator," the woman on my left said.
"We know we are not supposed to interfered but, your father saved our life when taking us as pilots," the other one answered.
"I won't let anything happen to this ship," I said.
"So you also believe that he will be back?" One of the woman asked.
"I don't know but I hope so," I said.
"Still, I know it must be hard for you to be placed in charge so young even though it's all in your blood," the other said.
"We can't do it without you," the first one said.
"Klara!"
"It's true, I trusted your father, so much, now, I hate the conceal and I didn't want you here, but you are just like him," the first woman, the one named Klara said.
"I don't know if I'm just like him," I answered.
It was really strange to hear people comment about my father in such a way. The only thing I always had about my father, in my universe or in other was how much of a loser he was for not taking care of me. Even if that wasn't true everywhere, he wasn't as present as my mother over all.
"We would side with you against the conceal, no matter your decision as long as you don't give up on us and the ship," Klara said.
I was starting to feel tired. My other self had been standing with them in this room forever. I didn't know if I ever had another place to go and seeing what they thought about the conceal, I didn't really want to go visit the ship on my own.
"One other thing," the woman whose name I didn't know said, "they might try to get rid of you, just like they tried to get rid of him. They placed you here not only because of the hereditary law but also because they thought that because you were young and an inexperienced woman, they would manipulate you. But after what you did this morning... Their plan is dead."
I looked at her and at Klara in turns. They seemed to have thought a lot about it and not to be too comfortable about saying that to me.
"Why do I scare you?" I asked.
They looked at each other before looking at me.
