At the moment this sort of things are hanging a little bit everywhere at the entrance of buildings and shop. I think they are made for the wishes. If you can make 1000 origami cranes, then your wish will come true which is why so many Japanese people can fold cranes, my boyfriend said they did it at school before exams to be able to pass without a problem. I think that's kind of cool. In the end, even if the wish doesn't come true, you can still fold a crane super fast.
