In the train we met a Canadian named Maggy in the same situation as we were, that was in a train for Warsaw when we were supposed to go to Praha. The thing is we were supposed to stop in Breclav in the middle of the night and stay there until we find a train to Praha. During the day in German speaking countries that not a problem at all. In the middle of the night at the border between Czech republic and Austria that more likely to be very annoying. Especially that at that time I was a bit scared by the Czech language, you know the declensions and stuff like that. Hopefully I'm cured now, I don't think I can get scared by a language ever again.
Fortunately we found out that there was a train starting for Breclav to Praha as soon as we arrived there so we just jumped in it, that was the tricky part, because we weren't 100% sure that it was the right train.
We spend the second part of that night in the train the keep on stopping every two minutes which was not the best way to sleep, each time we were asking ourselves if we were already arrived.
We finally arrived at 3am, bad time, bad time, the only solution was to finish the night in the train station waiting for the shops to open. We were really asking ourselves "Mais que diable allait-il faire dans cette galère ?"(Molière), that is "What the hell are we doing here ?" And it's raining.
I was so tired and in a bad mood I would have died there.
But when the city woke up everything turn find. We took our ticket for go to Berlin the next day, took the tramway to find the Youth Hostel without any problems now that we had a map.
We spend that night in a sport room filled with bed. We decided to have a nap until 10am before going to visit the city. After a shower and breakfast, we begun our visit of the Czech republic main city.
First the Malá Strana quarter with park and garden, it was still raining, at the top of the hill we could see a little Eiffel tower, Petřínská rozhledna and an observatory.
We found some huge snails on our way down, hum good to eat ..., just kidding.
Then we went to a most touristic part, cathedral St-Vidu, and Belvedere, then Karlův Most (516 meters long, 9.5 meters large) where we could see people selling home made stuff and drawing. You have a look at the old town and as the sun was going down we decided to go back to the youth hostel.
