Thursday Fiction 259: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

"We have class tomorrow and statistic is really not my forte. We are going to need extra training about it if we need to go deep. I guess we need to get everything fixed up before you get there again, we better start now."

He let go of my hand and opened his door. I missed it, I missed the warmth but I wasn't sure what it meant so I opened my door too and picked up my bag to get inside the building. I was a bit tired but if Alex wanted to get started on my data now, I guess I could deal with it, at least if he let me eat something first. I always ate a lot after a black out I guess I needed to replenish the extra energy loss but I didn't have a chance to grab anything to eat yet.

"Let's get Amy for dinner, so that she doesn't feel left out, then we can get rid of her pretending we have some tutorials to work on or something," Alex said.

I nodded. I felt a bit bad leaving Amy out of this. I had just placed her other self in a new important position in the other world and here I was totally going for putting Alex in charge or something. Fin had said that I was making a huge mistake putting Fanny in charge, in this universe I was closer to Amy until tonight in the other universe, I was closer to Fin. Still I decided to trust the other twin. I wonder if I was going to be ok doing so.

Wednesday Snippet 261: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“We are the Hunters, the descendant of the gods, we have been waiting for this time to come in the hope to destroy the world and recreate a place for everyone to reach a higher state of happiness. When all the gods are ready to be reborn in a single place, the change will come and there will be nothing to stop it.”

“Where are the god going to be reborn?” Odeon asked.

The demon didn't move.

“Where?” Odeon asked again placing his fingertips closer to the demon's chest. More and more yellow sparkle propagated through the demon who shook.

“You're going to kill him,” Torsti said but Odeon didn't stop.

“Where?”

“In the cave, in the underground cave, this city is a maze, you'll never find them on time, they will kill you,” the demon said but Torsti stopped him with a hammer it on the head. He felt to the floor.

Odeon looked at him.

“What? We got what we need, we just find the next entry to the cave and blow them up as they come until we find Lonan,” he said turning around putting his hammer on his shoulder.

“Yeah, I guess so,” Odeon said catching up with him to walk at his side.

“What?” Torsti said.

“Nice shot!”

“Thanks bro!”

Tuesday Travel 50: Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Welcome to Tuesday Travel. Every Tuesday, I will be presenting an excerpt of Witch Raising: The Book of Fire, the book in which Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul, is undertaking an initiatory journey.

About Witch Raising: The Book of Fire

Witch Raising is a new series with Brownie, the heroine of Demon Soul as the main character. This series is part of the House at the Crossing Series and follows Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy but instead of being centered on the adventure of Sahel and his demon friends, it follows Brownie as she goes from being a normal girl to a bad ass witch. She has been practicing magick for a while now, saving people from difficult situations but the people at the house, including Sahel aren't happy with her new calling. Feeling that she doesn't have a choice and has to keep learning witchcraft, Brownie leaves to meet other witches.

The excerpt, we start where we left off last week  

This had to be the standard sentence because that was the only greeting those people seemed to know.

"I'm looking for a room, and I don't have a reservation," Brownie said already cutting into the usual dialogue.

"Well we are fully booked for the festival, it's a busy time of the year," the man said coming from a back room and cleaning his hands full of flour with a towel. "But we offer morning breakfast, if you find an hostel that doesn't we'll be happy to have you for a minor fee." he added, "You should try the back-packers, they have dormitories that fill up quickly but single travelers never really think about them for a single room so you might find one there."

"Thank you," Brownie answered, "I'll try."

"Good luck," the man said.

He watched her walk out before getting back to his bakery.

At least if she didn't have a roof she still knew where to eat the next morning.

So the back-packer hostel it was. It was a bit further away in a perpendicular street. There was a band playing some rock at the terrace of a cafe in the corner. Some people were sitting at the terrace with a drink and Brownie sort of envied them. It was too crowded to enter and get herself a drink and a seat though.

Some other people were standing in front of the cafe and the waitress was passing in between them with drinks. delivering directly in hand. That was a lot of work for one girl only and Brownie wondered if she would be alone too when the festival started.

Mystery Monday 53: Harajuku Kiss

About Harajuku Kiss

At times, life can be so depressing. She is walking her usual recovery tour in Harajuku, finishing with a crepe, trying to forget that her boyfriend dumped her once again for the week-end... When the unthinkable happens... A boy stops in front of her in the street and kisses her, in the middle of the street, before running away.

Trying to discover more about him, she is dragged into a dangerous game of mystery. A biologist has been murdered and a deadly virus is on the loose. First suspect: the mysterious Harajuku's stranger.

Here is the snippet for this week

“Just sleep,” it repeated.
“I can’t possibly sleep if you keep being noisy and talking to me,” the another voice in my head answered. It was right too.
I don’t know how many of these voices I have in my head, I never counted them, but they are always contradicting each other. In a way, they are each a part of me but not the entire me. Some pretend to be me and some pretend to be someone different but I'm not crazy, I know who I am.
