WeWriWar 186: Rainbow catcher

Welcome to a new excerpt of Rainbow Catcher for the Weekend Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday

Now let's go back to our story.

Summary of previous episodes: Clarissa is coughing and wanted to watch Everett Cooper on TV but Jason refused, she is due to get her rainbow the next day but she seems scared, to make her feel better Jason leave the TV on. Clarissa tried to explain about rainbows, she is a big fan of Everett Cooper but Jason is not too sure about it. Clarissa complained about her dialophone but Jason needs to go to work. Before completely leaving he is thinking about getting her her rainbow. We flashed back to the meeting Jason had with a rainbow seller at the black market. Jason left Clarissa's room to go to work. Jason was talking to his boss about the rainbow coming the next day. Jason prepared the money for the rainbow in a sport bag and went to the hospital. The rainbow seller arrived for the delivery. But it was a scam and Jason prepares to go get the rainbow himself in the desert. Markus has a last surprise for him.
We start just where we left off last week.

So always drink the water first and then a spoonful of oil. If your skin hurt use oil, don’t wait until it’s a good moment, use it straight away, never put water on your skin when you are outside it would attract the suns’ bite, always use oil. Be careful with the food, dry food is the best. It might not be tasty at first but it’s safer."
"I'm used to dry food," Jason interrupted.
"Good! Fruits are also eatable but very expensive as they contain water. Try to get one fruit a day, especially in the morning. It will keep you hydrated for a while. Never eat meat. It takes the water away during digestion and most of the time it stays in the suns to long. Never transport food, just buy it and eat it when you stop because it will turn bad on the way. I guess that’s about it for self-care,” Gena said.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 100

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?
Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week

I was hard to explain and hard to understand that once I was filled with blood I wasn’t really myself anymore. I looked at the food on the table but it wasn’t appealing at all. I wanted more blood, just like every time I had some but I knew that my inability to cover up for last night hunt was now going to play against me. Nicolas wouldn’t let me go out to feed tonight again. I was stuck here. I didn’t answer, there was nothing I could say to defend myself. I went out, drunk and killed the poor guy and that still made me happy. All my senses were awaken, I was feeling truly myself and on the top of that I had a better memory of Sorina now.
They found them already, you didn’t hid them at all, and how could you kill them all so quickly?” he said.
Them?” I asked puzzled.
I had only taken the life of one guy, only one. There couldn’t be more. I remembered that we went out and I had woken up in my bed after looking at the fire but that was the only time I had fainted. The hunt, I remembered it all.
Three men, in different part of time, is it what you mean when you said that you wouldn’t leave tracks?” Nicolas said.
Perenelle put a hand on his arm to appease him but he pushed her away and leaned forward on the table to look at me. It was a secondary effect of the stone, the younger Nicolas wasn’t like the old at all, he was choleric and cold and self sufficient. I wondered why Perenelle had married a guy like him back in the days. All that mattered to him was he research, he had given himself a second life but instead of living it, he was back on the research again, using me as his excuse.
I took the newspaper from him across the table. There was no need for discussion. Reading Czech was really hard for me and it took me some times to find the article. Nicolas had learned the language like it was nothing and that was disturbing me a little. All that was bothering me, I was starting to feel jealous of him, after all I was older than him, much much older there must have been something that I had learned that he didn’t know, or had I wasted hundreds of years just because I had eternity in front of me. I finally found it. Three body had been discovered in different part of town. One far north near the river, one in the Jewish quarter and one that I knew of for being the one leaving it in the street.

Thursday Taster 126: Parallel Slip

Hello and welcome to a new Thursday Taster, the day when awesome writers all over the blogosphere come together to give you tasty bits of their last fiction. You can find the list here.

We start right where we left off last week.

"I can't, I need to go back," she said.
"To take Tamara's place as Jimmy's toy?" I asked.
She bite her lips and looked back.
"I can't pass my classes without their help," she said.
"Pass you classes, like Tamara did," I said.
She looked back again. The group was forming behind her.
"Fred, I..."
"We gotta go, I'll take care of your classes," I said pushing her hard.
The door opened for us and the cold outside fresh air hit me hard on the face. I turned left, I had no idea where I was going except away from here and not toward the parking lot. The music had deafen me and all I could hear was the click of Amy's heals as she followed behind me until voices started to yell. Now wasn't the moment to think, now was the moment to run. So we ran.
"I can't do this," Amy said behind me out of breath.
I was feeling a little out of breath too and I was looking for clues, for marks I couldn't find. It was making me edgy. I couldn't recognize the streets as the one I saw in the other world. We were supposed to go to a party later and I wondered if that was the place where my other self had rescue Amy. This wasn't going to do. I stopped behind a bin and squatted, Amy hid behind me. The smell was atrocious. I could still hear the others voices yelling at each others. They seemed to be everywhere.
"What about we go back and ask Tamara to drive us back and I tell her I don't need their help for the class and to forget about everything," Amy said.
"And you think that would work?" I asked.
Amy gave me a blank look.
"Tamara is not really the one in charge here either," I continued.
"They are not so bad, I guess I think if we explained to them that we didn't know what is going on, we can just go to the party and forget about the rest..."
"Look Amy, I don't know what is going on, I don't need anyone's help to pass my classes and certainly not that kind of help anyway," I said.
"Tamara said I just had to go to party and date Jimmy a little," Amy said, "and he is gorgeous just..."
"You don't feel like dating him," I said.
"I don't feel like going with him in the back room to play base one hundred," Amy said biting her lips.

Vlog #57 Shopping and Mini Hibarichan (with videos)

We went out finally to get some more furnitures for my stuff, mostly for my yarn and fabric supplies so I'll be able to get a lot more things done when I can readily access my stuff instead of having to dig it up.
The furniture will be delivered later but I came home with a polar bear named Luigi.
Ikea was fun and I even got a Swedish meal. Ikki decided he wanted Italian though.
Last night after the end of Vlog #56, I made a mini Hibarichan for my mini me pullip. It was my first time sewing a plushy. She is made out of felt with some fluffy yarn for her tail and hair. It isn't really the same scale between my pullip mini me and me and her Hibarichan and her mini me but I guess that's still good enough. I didn't see how I could really make something smaller out of felt, though I might be able to do so crocheting.

Here are some pictures
