Wednesday Snippet 204: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

Kamaril growled and let him fall on the floor, the little demon fell on his feet and started to rush in the corner putting as much distance as he could between him and Kamaril. He stood looking at the other demon with his arms spread as if he was preparing to attack any second.
“Stay in that corner and don't move,” Kamaril said.
“What are you gonna do?” Lonan answered.
“Are you deaf or what? We are going out of here.” Kamaril answered with a bit of impatience in his voice.
Lonan stuck to his corner. Kamaril might not have listened to him but at least he knew better. He was even expecting Kamaril to get flying all over the place again.
Kamaril stood in front of the door his legs open wide enough to give him a good balance. He opened his wings and arms with his palm toward the door. And he called for the water. The balls were boiling in his hands, he waited for them to grow, slowly, steadily until they almost touched each other before releasing them with high speed to the door. The blue wave seemed to broke at first but then propagated itself in the water and hit Kamaril on the chest making him fly through the cell again. Lonan started to laugh.
“Damn it,” Kamaril said massaging the back of his neck, he took his right wings in his hand to unfold it.
“You know, I'm a demon too, I said I tried already, you really never listen,” Lonan said still laughing.

Vampire Friday: Vampire Heart 206

Welcome to a new part of Vampire Heart unedited. Have you been bitten yet?Sign up to be part of our awesome Vampire Friday blog hop team! You know you want to!

Summary of the previous episodes: Viorel has been tortured by his supposed family who wanted to have him burn in the sun. Strangely enough the sun didn't burn him as expected but Viorel has no memory of who he is. Following the advises of his supposed father, he left Sighișoara and is now traveling to the West. After some skirmish in a previous city, he found refuge on a boat. Viorel is now in Vienna. The little problem is that the guy at the inn was a bit of an asshole and helped capture Viorel thinking he was a vampire, which he is but nobody needs to know. Now there is a huge man (which I call the colossi) taking care of Viorel and a priest. They brought a girl. Torture my holy water... Fail. Viorel managed to confuse everyone, now he would like to get out of here. But the girl seems pretty useless. They still managed to escape and he left the girl to the care of the boat lady before going back to have two words with his captors but his power of persuasion were failing him. The priest wanted to crack a deal but Viorel is not really up to help his enemies. He finally got some blood but he can't risk to stay in Vienna. He travel to Linz were he stays a bit to learn German.
Viorel wanted to go to Praha but redirect himself toward Augsburg instead where he wants to get a horse, except that the horses are a bit scared of his vampirism and maybe something else. Viorel is really not a horse expert. Then he comes into an altercation with couple of people, he wants some fear in his blood. The girl Viorel has found seemed to enjoy the game. Viorel prepares for the nightmares that come with a feast of blood, in a rush to leave, he cross the dukedom of Lorrain.
We introduced Sorina, three weeks after the beginning of Viorel's escape.
Viorel dreamed of Sorina and woke up not really remembering anything. Traveling to Paris, he arrives at "La cour des miracles". He is rescued by a stranger who turned out to be Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist he was looking for. Nicolas does some strange experiment without Viorel's agreement. Some people are looking for Nicolas's secrets. On the other side of Europe, Sorina awakes and Viorel's past in haunting him. Viorel discovered that he can change into a wolf but that's not the easiest thing to handle.

Now, let's continue with Vampire Heart, right where we left of last week.

He climbed on the driver’s sit without another word and took the reins. I somehow felt relieved that he didn’t see the mess inside of the carriage. The girls was still crying on the floor in the middle of her dresses when I opened the door. She looked up at me with puffy eyes. She seemed terrified. I climbed up and closed the door quickly behind me. Alexej didn’t need to hear our conversation. I sat and knocked on the wall separating them for him to start the carriage.
I can’t go to Grand duchy of muscovy,” she said, “I can’t go back there, they’ll kill me if they find me.”
I started to fold the dresses to make more space for us in the sits. She didn’t let me do and started to do it herself.
Are you from Grand duchy of muscovy?” I asked. That would have explained why she didn’t look like the usual Czech girls I had seen all around Praha. She didn’t answer straight away. She concentrated on folding her dresses as if trying to find the best answer.
I’m not supposed to talk about it,” she finally said looking at me deeply with angry blue eyes.
I didn’t insist, I knew that I was going to get my answers in time and I was getting a bit tired. She finished to fold the dressed and sat in the furthest possible corner of the couch from me. It was amusing to look at her. She held the little cat on her knees, it was meowing weakly as she caressed his head between the ears with a distracted finger. She pushed the curtain away and started to look throught the window at the night landscape near the road taking us away from Praha.

Thursday Fiction 200: Parallel Slip

Welcome back to a new part of Parallel Slip, where we follow the adventures of Frederique through her slip in different parallel universes.

Let's start right where we left off last week.

Six more pictures flashed on my screen. Then the idea came.
"Prepare a meeting for tomorrow, I want them in front of the council," I said.
"It might not be wise captain," the robotic voice said.
"How so?"
"They are new membered placed here by the council," the robotic voice said. "If you decide to point at them, the council might make it more difficult for you by pointing at people placed by your father."
I started to think for a moment.
"Then prepare a meeting with the council and nine of them, all by Mariah Sarah Xeranov," I said.
"I don't see the difference that will make captain."
"But it will be huge, oh and make sure nobody can see that I read her files," I said.
"As you wish captain."
I starting writing down notes for Michelle. I had a feeling she was already aware of what I was doing but it wasn't a luxury, she needed to know later, just in case she didn't know now. For all I could think about, I was here because this was a rash decision and she would feel better if I was the one making it.

Wednesday Snippet 203: Blue Angel

Welcome to a new part of Blue Angel unedited, we start right where we left off last time.

“I'm not taking order from anyone, let alone a kid like you, how old are you, 8?”
“I'm ten and you can't say I didn't warn you,” Lonan said.
“Warn me about whaaaat...” Kamaril started but he didn't have time to finish.
Like blades of electricity, Lonan's fingertips touched his gloves unlocking them but the intensity was such that Kamaril was pro-pulsed in the magical barrier guarding them and and then back flying through the cell.
Lonan was laughing holding his belly, Kamaril's gloves had fallen on the floor and he kneeled and rolled out of laugh next to them.
It only took few seconds for Kamaril to recover. He jumped on his feet and grabbed Lonan by the collar of his shirt pushing him up a good meter about the floor which had the result of making him stop laughing completely.
“Hey, let me down!” He exclaimed with indignation trying to kick Kamaril but Kamaril held both his feet away from him while Lonan kept on moving like a little earth worm just plucked out of the ground.
“Why the hell did you do that?” Kamaril said.
“Because you asked, I told you to sit down but you thought you knew better, it's your own fault if you got transformed into a flying ball, you should try to enter a circus, you're damn good at it,” Lonan said.
