The end of LJ Idol

If you are looking for the A-to-Z challenge, click here or scroll down.
I know some of you were waiting for the next post of my LJ Idol adventure, or more exactly to know what happens to Jess and Mike and Edric youhou blushes.

But I was eliminated yesterday from LJ Idol with the less votes on all polls put together which I find rather epic.
I think my little adventure in Jess unconsciousness couldn't really rivaled with other people's real life daily problems. Thing is I'm not going to apologize for loving my live and having no problem living it. I'd rather give people a world to escape than to remind them of their own crap but putting mine on display.
One good thing about being kicked out by the vote is that I won't have to read other people's posts anymore and I can go back to my top secret project to take over the world. Don't get me wrong there are nice posts on LJ Idol and there are nice people too. But there are also a huge amount of non fictions that would have gotten me depressed if I didn't have better things to do. There is only so much you can sympathize on after the six posts my emotion start to shut down. I couldn't even comments on most posts because a lot of them were making me go: "Again."
Maybe I missed some concept of the game. I don't know.

Anyway, to talk about the interesting part. The story and Jess and Mike might become a novel some day. I'm putting it in a corner but not forgetting about it. I have a lot of things to write first though as it's a low priority project and the plot line hasn't been defined. So while waiting for it, you can always go read the current progress of Blue Angel which will be finished this month for Camp NaNoWriMo. If I can buy half an hour from time to time I might get something written once everything else has been done.

With the end of LJ Idol and some more time to be on this blog, I might also start again the Edit Prompts on Tuesdays, the Demon Soul videos on Wednesdays and Thursday Cinema from next week. I hope you'll enjoy all the extra blog posts and that you'll have time to keep up with everything. If you want something more, just let me know.

In Another Castle: Slipped

LJ Idol third week! And I'm still here! Thank you so much for your comments and votes! You're awesome! I hope I was able to give the love back to everyone of you.

The topic for the Third week is In Another Castle.

Summary of the previous episodes
After a very embarrassing farting in the bathroom in public experience, Jess is taken out to a ruin tower for an initiation. Unfortunately, she slipped on the missing stair.

Let's continue the story with my LJ Idol special characters.Lights flashed around me through my closed eyelids, first white then red. And a sound so loud I could feel it beat inside of my head. I was falling again. Falling in the light until the sound became softer, just like a murmur, then nothing. I had landed on something comfy, it smelled like someone had just cut the grass. I felt some movements, as if I was transported somewhere. Mike might have picked me up, I thought. I didn't even feel like yelling at him any more, I was ok. I was just going to bed and sleep until morning. Then once back at the university, I would try to forget about his family and there stupid initiation, that was better.
Something wet touched my hand. It was soft and moving and big. I opened my eyes with a startle to find myself face to face with a cow. A large black and white cow. I sat up and tried to take myself as far away from it as possible. The animal, undisturbed, was eating the grass on which I had been laying, following the cart taking me, where, I didn't know.
I closed my eye for a second, taking my hand to my face and realised that I had dark green sleeves. I was wearing a dress. I don't own a dress like this. I was wearing jeans and sweater last night, on the top of my pyjama when I had to get out quickly for their stupid initiation. How the hell did I turned up to be wearing this?
Mike, my first thought was, it's gotta be Mike, but why?
"You're finally awake," a voice said behind me.
The boy looked like Mike's younger brother. He had a large smile on his face and shiny, laughing eyes which seemed to know everything about you.
"Where am I? Where are you taking me?" I tried to make an effort to remember his name but it made my head hurt.
When my hand came back from the back after touching my hair, it was bloody.
"You must have hit your head hard," the boy said hitting his horse with the rein. "I didn't know girls could climb trees, especially one with that kind of dress."
It didn't seem to have much effect on the animal who continued to walk it's nonchalant steps.
"Trees?" I said. Was he making fun of me? He seemed serious despite his laughing eyes.
"Yeah, I found you under one, at the end of the road with your head on a stone. It was red and you wouldn't wake up but you were still breathing so I thought I better take you to the village," the boy said.
The village was straight ahead of us, at the end of a long, monotonous, straight road. Not the asphalt road I had walked with Mike the night before, an old dirty and muddy earthy road. I could see the high walls around it, which didn't hide the houses build as to form a hill around a castle.
"I'm Edric by the way," the boy said.
"I'm Jess," I answered evasively.
"Don't forget me when you get back to the castle," he smiled.

"Hi Josh," the night nurse said. "It's a little bit late to visit Ana."
"Hi Maria, unfortunately, I'm not here for Ana tonight," Josh said. "My brother's girlfriend had just been admitted here, she arrived in an ambulance."
The nurse offered him a sad smiled.
"Name?" She asked.
"Jess, I mean Jessica Strand," Mike said.
"Let me see," the nurse type on her computer's keyboard. "She is in intensive care. You can't enter the room yet but you can have a look through the class."
"Let's go," Josh pulled on Mike's arm and directed him through the corridors as if the hospital was his own house.
They stopped in front of a room were doctors and nurses seemed extremely agitated. The tension in the air was palpable, but the boys couldn't hear anything happening on the other side of the glass. Jess was laying there, in the middle of tubes and heavy equipment: machines with green lights showing her heart pulse, a mask, to help her breath, blood on the bed cheat under her head even though the bleeding seemed to have stop.
"I'm sorry Mike," Josh said, "It wasn't supposed to be like this."
"I should have fixed the stairs," Mike said. "She always spaces out, you know, lost in her thoughts. I don't even know how she can cross the street without being hit by a car when I'm not with her. She just always think about something else."
Josh didn't answer. He could see the pain on his brother's face.
"She is strong, you know, one of the strongest person I ever met. Way stronger than me, that's why I wanted to do this for her. Like you did for Ana," Mike said. "She deserves it. And we'll do it again, as soon as she's out of here, but I'll carry her up the stairs."
"Of course you will," Josh answered, "I'll fix the stairs, I should have fixed them long ago."
The agitation increased in the room. Mike put both hands on the glass. A nurse came to close the grey curtains.

"What makes you think I will go to the castle?" Jess asked.
"Because of the dress, I'm sure you are the one they have been looking for," Edric answered.

The Missing Stair: Well or tower.

LJ Idol second week! Which means I made it through the first round! I still find it incredible but I have no time to rest on my laurels. Second topics has been posted.

The topic for the Second week is The Missing Stair.

Let's continue the story with my LJ Idol special characters.

At least they let me sleep on the first night, I guess they had enough to laugh about for the moment. I spent the next day with Mike, almost didn't see anyone else except at family lunch and diner. I only heard them whispering behind closed doors, stopping every time I came around.
"I'm telling you, they really like you," Mike laughed out when I told him about my worries.
He didn't understand how I felt, he didn't even try. It was like being back in high school, with everyone avoiding me for a reason I couldn't imagine. The kids back then called me V, not because I told stories about coming from another planet as I first thought, but because I wore trousers making a V shape between my legs. I could almost hear Mike's family call me the fart, or something alike, these sort of things stuck with you. Four brothers and three sisters, it was like a small classroom, no way they would keep secret what had happened in the bathroom.

It was around midnight. I was in my pyjama, reading the book Mike had offered me for my birthday few weeks earlier. Ringu. We went to the cinema to see the movie, American version, it gave me nightmares for three weeks. I had the same black hair as Sadako, walking out of the shower, it was her I could see in the mirror. But the fact is, I pledged that I would read the book before watching the movie whenever possible, so I had to read this one, even afterwards. It was scary. I was scared and grateful that Mike was reachable, working at his computer, letting me hold his hand every time I felt I was going to collapse in Suzuki's horror.

I heard three knocks at the door. Mike left his computer to open it. It was really unlike him. He had this grin on his face, the one he only wore when he was to talk in public as if he wanted to show everyone that he was going to blow their mind. It wasn't really reassuring.
"It's time," his brother said.
It was the only one with red hair, the older. I wondered for a second where his red hair was coming from.
"Everything is ready?" Mike asked.
"Trust me," his brother answered looking at me over Mike's shoulder.
He smiled, I smiled back. He walked away and Mike turned toward me.
"Ok, get dressed, we are going out," he said.
"Where?" I asked.
"You'll see, they are waiting."

It was pitch dark outside. In the country side, there is no lights, only the sound of the wind and wild animals, a owl, cats fighting, cicadas. I always thought cicadas would go quiet at night, apparently here they aren't.
"Where are they?" I asked.
Mike took my hand and didn't bother to answer. It was making me nervous. I could see shapes growing in the darkness, behind the trees. I wonder if they had a well somewhere hiding and a girl fallen in there waiting for me.
We walked down the road for a bit, going further away from the village, toward the wheat fields. Lights were coming from far away, moving like ghosts, flash lights.
"What are we doing here?" I asked.
"It's a game," Mike answered.
"A game in the middle of the night," I said getting even more confused.
"I can't tell you about it, you'll see."
Once again that was not reassuring. I knew Mike, I trusted him, somehow, but the rest of his family, they were just strangers.
We reached a stone tower half in ruins. His brothers and sisters where forming a circle in front of the entrance. The younger one was dancing on her feet and hugging herself as if she was cold. She was still wearing her pyjama. I smiled at her, at least I wasn't the only one uncomfortable.
"Hum, hum," the older one started. "All you have to do is climb on the roof," he said.
I didn't realise he was talking to me. Everybody was staring at me, Mike let go of my hand. Suddenly, I felt alone. I looked at him blankly, then at each of them.
"Can we get going? I'm freezing here," Mike's younger sister said impatiently looking straight at me as if I was responsible.
She liked me, right.
"It's your initiation," Mike said. "You climbed to the roof and you pass."
Initiation for what I wanted to ask. It was high school all over again. I thought I had finally escaped. I turned around to leave but I didn't know where to go, it was Mike's place, his family, we came with his car. I didn't even know if I could call anyone to come pick me up, especially at this time of the night, that would take hours.
"She's not gonna do it, I told you, she is not gonna do it," one of the boy who had stood laughing at me in the bathroom said in my back.
I stopped and walked back in front of him. I wanted to slap him. I wanted to slap Mike for dragging me into this but I wasn't going to back down in front of them. I took his flash light away from him and entered the tower. That was stupid, I was stupid. When I was younger I had always walked away and let people laugh at me, it didn't work, it didn't make me feel better. I decided that now that I entered university I was going to do things differently, accept the challenges in my life. This was different.
It smelled like dust and wet earth. There were probably bats so I directed the light toward the ground. I found stairs, I took a careful step, slowly, expecting the wood to break under my feet but it didn't. It cracked at each step. The tower was round, I couldn't help but look at the centre, expecting Sadako to come out, wondering how she had felt locked all alone in the well. Terrible, I was becoming her. I had thoughts of revenge on Mike, on all of them but especially on Mike. How could he do that to me? I was fulminating, trying not to freak out, clenching my teeth so hard together not to yell at them, that my jaws were becoming painful. The stairs was slippery. I climbed one step at a time until my next step didn't find a plank to stood on. I fell. The back of my head hit something sharp. Red shapes came dancing in front of my eyes. All I could think about was that I failed their stupid initiation. All went black.

Jayus: Farting in the bathroom

LJ Idol first week! It finally started. Ok, it started long ago but somehow I forget, on purpose, to take care of the introduction. Because I hate introducing myself. It won't take you long to decide Awesome or Get out, anyway.
The topic for the First week is Jayus (I just learned one more English word) “From Indonesian, meaning a joke so poorly told and so unfunny that one cannot help but laugh.”

I decided to create some characters especially for LJ Idol, we'll see together how they develop.

There was one thing about being Mike's girlfriend that was different from being any other guys girlfriend and that was his family. He had no problem introducing me to them and we spend the first week-end of our relationship at his parents. For me that was weird and awkward. I had already some trouble to adjust to the relationship status after being single for more than a year but I also had to get used to two parents, four brothers, three sisters, five dogs who could put their front feet on my shoulders when standing up on their back legs, and I know that because one of them did upon arrival, three cats which I had seen and I almost expected more but they didn't seem to want to have anything to do with me which I was grateful for, and goldfish. That was for the front of the house. I entered with dog's saliva on my face, which I had tried to wipe with my sleeves but they were both wet and disgusting before I could finished so I waited for a towel. Mike was already laughing at my entrance as if it was the funniest thing in the world and I didn't need to be embarrassed in front of so many strangers.
"They will love you," he had said.

And as they grabbed me one after the other to hug me and kiss me on both checks I was feeling like a long lost family member. It was totally awkward especially that I'm weird about human contact. I would have appreciated to be able to keep my personal space and the dog's saliva on my own face instead of sharing it with everybody.

They had already finished dinner at eleven pm that was to be expected. I was famished but I wouldn't have said anything I was too busy looking around in the living room, the house was big but not what I would have expected. Everything inside was black, the furnitures were black with not a single dust on them. I knew it was almost impossible to have no dust on black furniture because I always wanted black furniture myself but didn't now if I could handle the never ending dusting, at least time-wise but it was apparently possible.

"Can I clean my face?" I asked Mike in a whisper.
I didn't see that everyone already left without a word.
"Sure, come over here."

Mike grabbed me by the hand and led me to the bathroom. There was this thing about Mike, he would always hold my hand, even in the middle of the classes we took together at the university. I had to make sure he was on my right side so that I would be able to take notes. I'm lefty, Mike doesn't take notes. He learns from a textbook he reads during class. I don't know how he does it but his grades are way better than mine.

The bathroom was crowded. Two of Mike's brothers were brushing their teeth.
"That's all right, I can wait," I said.
But Mike pulled me in the bathroom in front of the sink.
"Come on guys, make some space for the lady!"
The two brothers laughed, I'm not even sure what their names are yet. They kinda looked the same to me, I mean they had a strong family resemblance.
"I can wait, Mike, really," I whispered looking at them trying to figure out a way to back up slowly.
"It's fine, they don't care," Mike said.
They were pushing at each other around talking through their tooth-brushes and I couldn't make a word of it. It was making me really nervous but I decided that washing my face was the best way to get me out of here quickly. So I bent toward the sink to get some water and I farted.
I looked up at Mike, he had this smile on his face but pretended not to have noticed, the bathroom seemed suddenly a lot quieter. I decided to continue and bent again slowly and I farted. That was the second time.
"Di ya hear dat?" One of Mike's brother said through his tooth-brushes.
I could feel the heat come to my face, I decided not to answer as if everything was normal.
I took some soap to wash my face and I farted.
That was the third time, I wondered what was wrong with me and I farted. A continuous set of fart coming out of my butt and the three of them started to laugh like mad men, I could see in the mirror that they tooth paste was going out of Mike's brothers mouth on their shin and the more they were laughing the more I was farting.
I urged myself through washing my face, but then I had to turn around and look at them. I took a deep breath and I farted.
Their laugh was contagious and the more I laughed the more I farted.
Finally they decided to get mouth rinse and they walked past me to the sink, letting me escape with Mike, tears in his eyes, out of the bathroom.
