The theme of my A-to-Z April Challenge
this year is dolls, as I have a
lot of dolls and I'm pretty sure I can go from A-to-Z with them. Today F is for Fantastic Alice.
I already talked about the Alice Series for the letter C: Classical Alice Series. This time around, there is no series. Fantastic Alice is all alone.
Before being taken over by Groove, pullip dolls were made by a company called Jun Planning. In 2004 this company released a doll called Fantastic Alice (later came a regeneration version of her)
Fantastic Alice is the first pullip Alice. She is closer to the Disney version of Alice in Wonderland than any other Alice and she comes with her little white rabbit plush.

I got this Alice in Second hand which is why she looks so funny in the box. She has a bit of yellowing on her face which I had to take care of.

Group picture of all my Alice theme related dolls on their shelf. They are from different series but they still fit together. I'm waiting for a new one that should arrive soon. I'm not telling which one though, if you want to know you'll have to stalk this blog or my doll related facebook page.
I wasn't really a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and I had trouble understanding why people were going so crazy about it in my writer groups especially. I think I got it now. This story has a lot of possibility.

The Alice Pullip doll is adorable...I especially like her blue and white dress but have to say, the Alice doll with the brunette hair wearing the hat in the group picture is by far the coolest one of 'em all. Love how she's rocking that jacket with the hearts, spades, diamonds, etc. on the collar :)
ReplyDeleteI too am not a big Alice in Wonderland fan but I like what Tim Burton did with the fairytale. His work (especially with Johnny Depp in the films...oooh lala!) is what I'd be more likely to watch over the animated Disney versions.
