WeWriWar 75 Demon and Fairy

Hello everyone!

Welcome to Week-end Writing Warrior and Snippet Sunday. NaNoWriMo started and I'm writing the 5th book in the Series. I know, only Demon Soul and Demon and Fairy are out but I already have full drafts for Demon World and Blue Angel and at the end of Blue Angel, the demons got stuck in the Fairy World and I can promise you they really hate that. I'll be uploading the draft on a daily basis so you can go have a look if you are interested (Warming: it's start pretty chaotic if you haven't read Blue
Angel which draft is also uploaded) .

In the previous episodes: Seti let the chaos got out of him as the father of his sister's fiance threaten to break the engagement. Wild, he flies to the beach to see the only person near whom he can get rid of the Chaos without pain, the fairy Kallisto in the Human world below his. He can only observe her through a tidal pool. But this time, she is in danger. Trying to rescue her from a snake, Seti lands in the world below. However, as Kallisto tries to touch him, he flies away back to his hidden place on the beach and listen to Kallisto's conversation with her best friend Kelpie who once again proposes to her and is refused. Kallisto needs to choose between Kelpie or going back to the fairy world to marry prince Kordelius. As the night comes, Kallisto goes home and so does Seti and of course his parents are all weird... (Remember, Seti used his forbidden power and left without an explanation... ) Then Seti was mysteriously pushed in his room, in the dark and apparently turned blind. For the past few weeks, Seti is trying to control the Chaos who wants to take over his body. Now we are having some flash back to explain the relationship between Seti and the Chaos.

Here are my 8 sentences, we start where we left off last week. Here is the end of the conversation between Seti and his father.

Whatever, let’s go home,” his father had answered.
I don’t want to go home,” Seti answered yelling covering the voice of the Chaos in his head.
You little… ” His father started ready to hit him.
Seti looked straight at him, expecting something, even being hit would have been better than the complete lack of contacts he had been suffering from, for the last four years. But his mum intervened, and his father turned around to get ready to go, leaving him with the anger and the headache. They didn’t even talk to him anymore, since that day they had stopped being parents. He tried to make his father mad, to get a reaction, but whatever he did or said, his father locked him in his room, pushing him in with a broomstick when he didn’t want to enter. When they came home from the park, his hands were still burning with the Chaos.

Answer to last week's comments:

Cindy, unfair and not so unfair. I think I'm just getting a bit tired of Demon and Fairy. It has been more than a year and we are only 1/8 in, and I have a hell lot of other things written. And on the top of that the book is out, and I'm even giving it away for free if you ask nicely (or promise a review ;) ) So it's not like I'm just forbidding you to ever know the rest of the story.

Seti is testing his parents. I think there is always a time when a child managed to get what his parents' boundaries are and what he can manage to do even when it's not allowed. It is especially true for a child like Seti who has absolutely no guidance relating to his main problem.

Seti is not really getting stronger in front of the Chaos, not this time around at least.

  1. Beautifully written. You've captured the sadness in Seti and what he's lost. Parents. Gut wrenching
We all have some kind of Chaos inside us.

  3. Such an awful way to be treated and by people who should love him. Another intriguing snippet!

  4. Very true about Seti wanting a reaction - any reaction - from his father. I do love Seti! But if you decide to excerpt one of the other books for awhile, that'll be fine too...you have to do what works for you!

  8. Great little snippet and I agree with Veronica ... kids do things for any reaction. Well done.
