Demon and Fairy WeWriWar 16

Hello Warriors and dear readers, welcome to another Week-end Writing Warrior blog post.
Thank you for all the comments last week, they made me very happy.

Now let's go to this week snippet, more on Demon and Fairy. Last week we jumped to chapter seven to investigate the barrier. Today, let's go back to chapter two and see what is happening between Seti and Kallisto.

In the previous episodes: Seti was in pain and flying to see Kallisto who is the only person who can help him get ride of it. He remembered how he had met her the first time but unfortunately this time it was late at night and she was nowhere to be seen. Seti couldn't spend the night on the Beach and decided to fly home not noticing that another demon entered her house. We followed Seti and discovered his chaotic bedroom before meeting his family for breakfast. They were arguing about Seti's sister's arranged wedding being canceled by the other family and Samira was crying. Their father said that Seti would just have to apologize. and we learn what Seti thinks about the situation. Seti met the twin's father and gave him an unexpected apology demon style which scared everyone around except Taram who had been spying at the scene from the stairs with his twin brother Torin. After the confrontation, as always when he has a headache, Seti flew to the beach and fell asleep near the tidal pool. When Seti waked, he saw Kallisto facing a snake he managed to get through the barrier and stop it from attacking her, at the moment he is about to kill the snake, Kallisto tells him to stop and had him let the snake on the other side of the barrier. Today Seti is having an unexpected reaction.

Here are my 8 sentences we start again just where we stopped two weeks ago.

Seti wanted to disappear. She was going to soon realize that he was a demon and be scared again he was sure of it.
“I’d better go,” he said.
He wanted to turn around and to walk away from her but he couldn’t, he looked at her expecting something but he wasn’t too sure himself what it was.
“No, you can’t, I don’t even know your name,” she said extending a hand to touch his arm.
“Don’t!” He cried taking a step backward and pulling his arm away from her.
“I’m sorry,” she said looking down, “I didn’t mean to…”
“It’s not like that,” he said in a hurry. “It’s just dangerous to touch me, if you touched me, something bad could happen to you.”

I hope you enjoyed today's excerpt and see you next week for more of Seti's adventures.

  1. Nice 8, Linda. They are in an impossible situation. I feel bad for Seti. How can they move forward if she can't touch him? You have a great imagination!

  3. I agree. It's a problem. Personally I like to touch. But after all, it's a fiction and anything goes. Make it work. Good eight.

  4. Lots of conflict here! Not touching...wow. And seeing someone act that way would sure have me curious - I'd be all over the "why?" LOL!

  6. Great snippet. His fear of her touch is excellently conveyed with the body reaction and the dialogue combined

  7. This demon is not like I expected him to be... it's like he's feeling conflicted emotions, and one such emotion is protectiveness of Seti.

There is a lot that can happen through touching... what an interesting way to set this up. Great snippet, Linda :)

  11. Very nice. Their situation isn't easy. How difficult for her not to touch him and for him not to allow her to touch. Maybe I'll know next week what they'll do. Good job.
